How to Drop OFF Your Work:
You will need the following:
- your piece of art, signed, wired and ready to hang, labeled in a removable fashion with
- the your name
- the title of your work
- the price of your work
- your phone number
- your email
- your mailing address
- your completed consignment form- there will be a limited number of blank forms at the gallery if you don’t have access to a printer
- $6 in either cash or check form. In the off chance that one of you wins the Lotto, know that you are totally welcome to donate more!
- It would also be very nice if you brought a brief Bio, artist statement and resume for us to make available, as people often want to know about artist’s whose work they like!
And that’s about it!
Details from the Call to Artists
- The Love show is limited to 100 people. It is an open-call (ie. non-juried) show open to artists at all levels of experience, from emerging to established professional, regardless of age, gender, race, orientation, religion, body type, politics, etc. If you’ve never shown your art before, you are still welcome to participate! It will fill up quickly, so don’t wait to sign up….
- One piece per artist only! 2D Work must be no bigger than 2ft x 2ft and preferably smaller. It doesn’t have to be framed, but it must be securely wired to hang. There is a tutorial on the basics of how to wire your work HERE; if you know you will need help figuring out how to hang your work, ask NOW, not when you are bringing it in, and we may be able to assist!
- Work can be in any media; as well, your work doesn’t have to be for sale, but if is, the gallery takes a commission of 25%. We want to encourage you to make new work for this show, and to take risks. Your piece should respond to love, but how it relates needs to be clear only to you, so make your piece as personal or abstract as you want to.
- Each artist will be asked to contribute the small sum of $6 to offset the enormous cost of putting on the show.
The Love show truly embodies what the gallery is trying to accomplish- inspiring, reaching out, creating connection & opportunity for artists, creating safe space for people to connect with art and each other, & having some good fun; the Love show is something we wait for all year and love dearly, and we look forward to seeing more amazing work this year!
