ARTWORK:

  • one piece per artist only, any media, 5 ft x 5 ft max (please, don’t all make work this big!!)
  • Wired & ready to hang (not pinned to the wall, not clips, not a cleat, no saw-tooth- a WIRE please- we can consult with you if you need help with this part)
  • Labeled in a removable fashion with your TITLE, NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE & EMAIL

STUFF WE NEED FROM YOU:
Before the opening:
As soon as you finish your piece, please send us an in focus 72 dpi .jpg image of your piece along with title, media, dimensions (H x W x D), year and price so we can post it on the website!

When you drop off your work:
This show’s overhead is pretty high. We would like you to pitch in $5.00 towards posters, cards, permits and all of the random stuff that goes into producing a large event. If you cannot afford it, please contact me and we will work something out, no problem.

We will also need a completed consignment form which we will email to you in advance.

At the Opening
Historically, the Love show has been a potluck. What speaks to every single person more than food? With so many people losing their jobs and this years show being a benefit for Oregon Food Bank, I am hoping that you will bring some scrumptious food to share with your admiring public. You don’t have to spend a lot of money or get super fancy, just plan on bringing something that you personally like to eat and want to share.

TERMS FOR SALES:
(All of this stuff will be outlined more clearly in a contract-y type consignment agreement in a later email)

* You do not need to sell your work, but if you do, here’s the basic breakdown:
* independant artists: 40% commission on work sold- 10% to charity, 30% towards producers/overhead.
* artists working with independant curators: 40% commission on work sold: 10% to charity, 20% to curator, 10% towards producers/overhead. More on this later, curators!
* Unlike previous Love shows at Launch Pad, Chris has told me that your artwork will actually be insured! Your work is insured for 60% of listed value (the percentage you would make if it sold) up to $1000.
* Artists will be paid within 30 days of the CLOSE of the show, if not sooner. (I will personally strive to pay everyone ASAP, as I know we all need the money)

PROMO MATERIALS:
There are already some cards rolling around town, but we will have another batch ready to pick up some time next week, as well as color posters- Times/location to follow in a future email.

In the meantime, please post/blog/email etc one of the attached images out into your web/myspace/facebook/blogosphere whatever! You are also welcome to design your own invite using your love show piece. The link for the show is at http://www.launchpadgallery.org/loveshow4 (it is no longer the sign-up page)

FOR OUT OF TOWN ARTISTS
How awesome to have you in this show!
Here are the specifics that apply to you:
You pay shipping both ways, please. If you include your return postage in stamp form, you can re-use them if your piece sells, though pre-printed mailing labels are convenient. It’s a good idea to include tracking capabilities, and doesn’t cost much. Feel free to include business cards or show cards for us to put out.

If your piece doesn’t sell, I will mail your piece back to you within two weeks of the close of the show. I’ll include some show cards as well for your files. Please be sure to include a removable label on your piece, and make your $5 check out to ‘Launch Pad Gallery’

You must get the work to me on time, by Saturday, February 7th at the latest!!

Because the gallery hours are sparse, I would like you to mail your piece to my home address:

Launch Pad Gallery
c/o Ben Pinkowitz
5217 NE 14th Pl.
Portland, OR 97211

I will email you when I’ve received it.
Thanks so much! It’s like Christmas in February when all the art arrives!
(and if you feel like it, include a note about how you heard about this show)
