About the Artist

Born and raised at the foothills of Mt. Hood, VIK has developed his talents as an artist torn between rural and urban lifestyles. Spending his youth causing trouble in the vast countryside of the fertile North West, he first discovered his talents in illustration. VIK’s inspiration is derived from a raw vision of the world, and its condition. VIK is a certified EMT and a former Bering Sea fisherman. But he is no longer such an outsider; VIK utilizes his experiences, and torments to lure us into his world.

By day VIK is a modern pirate: a professional remover and peddler of household wares and industrial materials. By night, he is an artist attentive to pattern and detail, ethereal lighting and poignant content that gently uses the shortcomings of society to gouge out our eyes. VIK’s work is both a siren and a lullaby.

Statement

“This collection of works has been a year in the making. I have dedicated myself to the endless pursuit of progression and evolution as a painter. I learned many things about myself while compiling this body of work, and realized that I am addicted to the work that is required to improve at what you do. I enjoyed every minute that I invested over the last year, and hope you like what you see. This is supposed to be a statement, so here it is. I want to create art. I want to show people art that they have never seen before.”
